Leadership Fairfax, Inc. Honors VARCom’s President with Prestigious Award

Herndon, VA – Leadership Fairfax, Inc. (LFI) honored VARCom Solutions president, Danny Vargas, with the 2019 Regional Leadership Award at its annual Northern Virginia Leadership Awards event. The event took place on December 6th at the Waterford Fair Oaks and are given annually to talented community leaders and organizations who have made a significant impact on Northern Virginia and the region through volunteerism and community engagement and a dedication to service above self.

The award highlighted Vargas’ advocacy for commonsense solutions to a variety of causes—workforce development, veterans support, economic development, health IT, immigration reform, transportation and more as well as his numerous leadership roles in the community. Karen Cleveland, CEO and President of Leadership Fairfax, stated “With these awards, we celebrate the selfless dedication and accomplishments of individuals and organizations whose work is central to our mission to develop, engage, connect and inspire community leaders.”

“This humbling recognition is totally overwhelming, and I was taken aback. In spite of my humble upbringing, I have been fortunate in so many ways and thus I have spent my adult life finding ways to give back as the least I can do to help others,” said Vargas. He added, “I have to thank my family throughout my life for their support and encouragement and thank God for the many blessing in my life. Mr. Vargas is active in numerous community service efforts. He is the Chairman of the Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino, was appointed to the Virginia State Advisory Council to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and serves on various boards and commissions, including, Virginia’s Commission for Economic Opportunity for Aspiring and Diverse Communities, Virginia FREE, GO Virginia’s Northern Virginia Regional Council, Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, Leadership Fairfax, and more. He is also a former Chairman of the Virginia Board of Workforce Development, former Chairman of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce and a former candidate to the Virginia House of Delegates.
